Interpreting is the oral translation of one language into another. There are several types of interpreting, chosen to meet each customer’s communication constraints and challenges.
Conference interpreting, also known as simultaneous interpreting, requires perfect command of the languages and subject matters concerned. As simultaneous interpreting requires exceptional concentration, interpreters never work for more than 30 minutes at a time. In most cases, a team of two interpreters is needed. Furthermore, interpreting requires specific equipment (single or double booths, bidule, headphones or earpieces, microphones, sound system, etc.).
Consecutive interpreting can be used for smaller meetings and shorter sessions: the interpreter waits for the speaker to finish a sentence before translating it, which makes the speech last twice as long.
Liaison interpreting concerns much smaller groups and site visits, and does not require any equipment.
According to your requirements, WEST TRADUCTIONS will take care of renting the required equipment, essential for both the interpreters’ and audience’s comfort.
